Pastor Sutterlin was born in Torrington, Connecticut (where the abolitionist John Brown was born ! ) and raised in Brooklyn. Schooled at Wagner College and Yale Divinity School, he went on for further schooling at Fordham University and the Alfred Adler Institute.  After serving 5 congregations in the Metro N Y Synod - 4 of them in Queens - he retired in 2020, settling in Whitestone, Queens.  He has 3 grown children and 1 granddaughter.  Some few years ago, a connection was made between Pastor Sutterlin and St. John's in Lindenhurst - and that has now turned into the privilege of serving as an on-going supply pastor.
