When the Saints Go Marching In!

by | Oct 30, 2025

This weekend, we celebrate All Saints Sunday—a time to remember those who have gone before us into eternal life and to rejoice in the living saints who continue Christ’s work today. We invite you to join us for worship and, quite literally, to “come marching in” bearing gifts for our food pantry.

As many news outlets have reported, the ongoing federal government shutdown shows no sign of ending soon. Its effects are being felt right here at home. Our food pantry’s primary partners—Long Island Harvest and Long Island Cares—are experiencing severe funding shortfalls and are unable to provide consistent donations. Families in Lindenhurst and neighboring communities are feeling the strain of food insecurity.

Now is the time for the church to BE the church! We invite you to bring non-perishable food items this Sunday so that our shelves can remain stocked and our doors open to anyone in need. Your generosity will help us continue to serve as Christ’s hands in our community.

During worship, we will also give thanks for the cloud of witnesses who entered eternal life in the past year. We will honor and remember our beloved saints:

The Gospel for All Saints Sunday reminds us of God’s blessing upon those who struggle and serve: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.” — Luke 6:20

Join us this Sunday, November 2, at 9:30 AM, as we celebrate the saints—past, present, and yet to come—and as we remember the poor, the hungry, and the hopeful among us.

Blessings,

Pastor Marc
